Looks like the big buzz today is about Google’s new browser, called “Chrome” that was accidentally announced a bit early via a comic book created by Scott McCloud:
At Google, we have a saying: “launch early and iterate.” While this approach is usually limited to our engineers, it apparently applies to our mailroom as well! As you may have read in the blogosphere, we hit “send” a bit early on a comic book introducing our new open source browser, Google Chrome. As we believe in access to information for everyone, we’ve now made the comic publicly available — you can find it here. We will be launching the beta version of Google Chrome tomorrow in more than 100 countries.

If you’re interested, you can find this comic book here:
And, here’s a sample, from the first page:
But, I’d imagine that if you’re searching for Google Chrome, you’ll be more interested in what it looks like, and when you can get it. So, here’s the Wikipedia information as of 10:30am PDT on September 2, 2008:
Google Chrome is an open source web browser developed by Google. It builds on components from other open source software, including WebKit and Mozilla, and is aimed at improving stability, speed and security with a simple and efficient user interface.[1] The name is derived from the graphical user interface frame, or “chrome”, of web browsers.
The beta for the Windows version is due to be released on September 2, 2008. Google will host a press conference that day at 18:00 UTC (11:00 am PDT). Mac OS X and Linux versions are under development and will follow the Windows version.[2][3][4] As of yet, Google has not released a download of the new browser to the public.
And, without futher adieu, the screenshots (thanks to PC World, since the Google Chrome main site is currently inactive):
More to come…
